Top medical surgeons and corporate sponsors elegantly witnessed the launch of Cure Day Hospital Wilgeheuwel, a multi-million rand state-of-the-art medical facility in Roodepoort on Wednesday, 22 May.

The launch also marked a huge milestone for the Cure Day Hospital Group as the hospital happened to be its ninth facility to be opened in the country and being the second in the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan.

DR. Oscar Shimange, the chairperson of the hospital group, alluded to the fact that more hospitals were on the pipeline, metaphorically saying so by using golf course which has 18 holes of which after playing the ninth hole players usually take a break, whether it’s indulging in breakfast or lunch and then return to the greens.

Shimange thanked all the sponsors, suppliers and Department of Health for making the dream of four years — according to Bert von Wielligh, the managing director of Cure Day Hospital, which had its fair share of challenges — come true.

The hospital is expected to start operating from the end of June only with private patients and end of July for medical patients.
