From the producers of the upcoming new international TV series, Dreams, comes a brand new musical that inspires one to dream again. Dreams is a phenomenal musical that will be performed at the Roodepoort Theatre for one night only – Saturday, 18 May. The show starts at 8pm. Tickets are R100 per person and are available on the Roodepoort Theatre Website.
The show is produced by the South African Film, Acting and Theatre Academy in proud association with Windmill Productions and Talent Africa.
It tells the story of Michael Henderson (played by Richard Gau, who also stars in Calling Us Home) who, after being fired from his life-time devoted job at the State Theatre, rediscovers his meaning in life and starts a performing arts programme for talented young individuals who have been deemed “not good enough” by society or high-end producers. Michael takes these young pupils under his wing and together they work to achieve their greatest dreams and aspirations.
However, through the journey, they learn that the road to success is hard, long and bumpy and not without sacrifice. But in life, we cannot hate the experiences that shape us and therefore, Michael encourages the students to keep on pushing, no matter how the odds are stacked against them.
