Learners at Trinityhouse Little Falls Preparatory School erupted with excitement as the first official lion mascot was unveiled on Friday morning, 10 May.
According to Tarryn Talbot, the head of marketing and admissions, each Trinityhouse school has an animal mascot, and the lion is the representative of the Little Falls campus.

Karen Cammell, principal at the school, enlightened us about the mascot. “The lion is a symbol of strength and we are so excited about building the spirit in our school as we believe that together we are stronger,” she said.
Tarryn added on to this theme. “Every Grade 1 to Grade 6 child is considered a ‘pup’, while the Grade 7 children are the ‘cubs’. Each Grade 7 ‘cub’ has a ‘pride’ of ‘pups’ that they look after. These ‘prides’ get together once every second week, and contribute to one another’s lives”.

At present, the mascot has no name, but the school has decided to hold a competition among the learners to name it.
