Horison pigeon show raises much-needed funds

The money was raised to help members attend the Word Cup competition

The West Rand Roller Union hosted the annual roller pigeon show and it was a huge success.

Entrants competed in four categories – Old Bird Best Cock, Old Bird Best Hen, Young Bird Best Cock and Young Bird Best Hen.

There was also an auction and the 2018 World Cup winner as well as some of the Top 10 finishers were auctioned off.

Otto Pretorius, the Club’s Secretary said, “The day was enjoyed by all and we raised some much-needed money, which will enable our members to participate in the upcoming World Cup”.

Even though there were more than 100 entries in the four categories, there could only be one winner. Hennie Wagener’s bird took top honours.

Otto concluded by saying, “The sport of flying and showing Birmingham Roller pigeons can be enjoyed by young and old. For more information, contact the Chairperson, Johan on 083 468 0590 or me on 078 117 2691.”
