Maxam gives back to the community
Festivities continued with a braai for the Foundation and individual gifts for each member
The staff from Maxam came bearing gifts when they visited the Kingdom Community Church Multipurpose Centre (KCCC Foundation) to honour the uplifting work they do for the community.
The KCCC Foundation runs a rehabilitation programme for approximately 40 inspiring young men who have chosen to make a positive change in their lives.
According to Maxam’s Marketing Coordinator, Roma Naicker, in March 2017, the company embarked on an enterprise development initiative with KCCC to cut the rope used in one of its products. The product that uses this rope is unique to Maxam. A year later, the company identified the opportunity to turn the Foundation into a supplier. “This rope-cutting project offered the Foundation a different skill set and discipline principles that are taught to the young men, which helps them in their recovery programme. Today, we want to acknowledged the KCCC Foundation for a job well done,” said Roma.
Although it rained throughout the day of the event, the festivities continued with a braai for the Foundation and individual gifts for each member. “The well-spent time provided us with the opportunity to listen to inspirational stories about the lives of the people at the centre, and the changes they have chosen to make,” Roma added.
The KCCC Foundation is a faith-based organisation that was formed as an NGO in 2014. Situated in Florida, it offers a rehabilitation programme that focuses on reintegrating participants into society by involving them in various social activities like scholar patrol.
Part of KCCC’s vision is to eradicate drug addiction, reintegrate young men into society, and restore their family units.
