The Roodepoort Police have had magnificent success eradicating criminal activities in the area, especially during a recent special operation.
According to a police report, they carried out an operation between 29 March and 4 April, during which 58 suspects aged between 18 and 52 were arrested for various crimes, including theft of copper cables, theft, shoplifting, contempt of court, assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm, assault common and malicious injury to property.

The suspects were charged and detained at the Roodepoort Police Station and have already appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court.
During the course of the operation, there was a business robbery on Thursday, 2 April, when three unknown males entered the reception area of a business, armed with handguns.
The suspects demanded cellphones, jewellery, laptops, iPads and money. They are said to have fled the scene in a black VW Polo. No injuries were sustained, but a case docket of business robbery and attempted murder was opened at the Roodepoort Police Station and the police are currently investigating the matter.
Business owners and residents are requested to be vigilant about who gains access to their premises.
