Emmanuel continues to shine on the cricket field

Emmauel's participation in the national camp comes off the back of some hard work at provincial level.

His strong performances and hard work since finishing the 2019 Cricket SA Franchise Cubs Week in January have paid off once again! Two-time SA U/19 Colts selection, Emmanuel Motswiri, has earned the opportunity to take part in the SA U/19 Cricket Camp at the University of Pretoria from 11-14 April.

Emmanuel, who was a matric learner at Maragon Ruimsig last year, started playing cricket when he was about eight or nine years old, when he took part in mini-cricket. He then began playing competitive cricket at the age of 12, and went on to play provincial cricket four times – twice for the U/15B team, once for the U/17 side, and once for the U/19 side – before making the U/19 side again in 2018 (this all being for Central Gauteng).

This young man has enjoyed a rich vein of form in the last year or two, and had yet another successful Khaya Majola Week in December 2018, averaging more than 50 runs and bagging a 51 not out against KwaZulu-Natal’s Coastal team. He was selected for the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Colts U/19 team for the second year in a row, after the Khaya Majola Week, the side second only to the South Africa U/19 Schools team.
