Florida North hosts bowls day for the blind
The funds raised are definitely much needed by Vibsa.
Florida North Bowling Club rallied its forces and got bowlers from all over to turn up in support of a fundraiser day held by the club in support of Visually Impaired Bowlers South Africa (Vibsa).
Just under 100 avid sighted and visually-impaired bowlers flocked to Florida North for the special day, Saturday, 6 April, with the aim of raising funds for Vibsa’s Central Gauteng branch, because the blind/ visually-impaired bowlers that belong to the organisation will be taking part in a competition soon, for which they will need assistance with travel, accommodation, and entrance costs.

All money that was made on the day went to Vibsa Central Gauteng, with revenue coming from various places such as entrance to the day and the auctioning/ selling of some items and memorabilia.
The blind and visually impaired bowlers are able to carry on with their passion for bowls thanks to a lot of help from coaches and helpers who aid them in directing where they need to bowl as well as guide them in how to hold the bowl.
