One blood unit can save three lives
This duel event was aimed to collect as much as possible blood units to support the South African National Blood Service (SANBS).
Jackal Creek Gym, hosted their first Vitality Wellness day and Blood Drive on Saturday 6 April at the gym in Northriding.
This event was aimed to collect as much blood units as possible to support the South African National Blood Service (SANBS).

The community members of Northriding, Jackal Creek residents and also Jackal Creek Gym members as well as the In-Reach Night series runners came in numbers to support.
Corne Van Zyl, Managing Director for Jackal Creek Gym said, “Between the two events we had 28 participants, with 19 successful blood units collected at our Blood Drive. Our aim is to collect 250 units in 2019 with three more Blood Drive events at Jackal Creek Gym in 2019.By hosting this duel event we were able to get more blood donations as well as making it easy for Discovery Vitality Members to get their points.”

“SANBS only have blood stock for the next five days, so we believe we can make a massive impact over time. Each unit of blood can save up to three lives so we believe we can make a massive impact over time,” Corne said.
Corne believes that by 2020 the Jackal Creek Gym members and In-Reach Night runners they will be able to have one of the biggest blood drive in the country.
