Earth Centre struggling to survive
“So, if you can see your way clear to giving something extra in our time of need, we know of 140 disabled children from poor communities that would be extremely grateful,” she explained.
A heartfelt request has been made by The Earth Centre to the community to save the facility as it is struggling to survive financially.
The Ruimsig-based non-profit organisation, which provides therapeutic horse-riding for about 140 disabled children from poor communities, finds itself on the brink of closing down after so many years.
“We find ourselves in the unfortunate position of potentially having to close our doors. We are in a critical financial situation, and are appealing to you and others to come together as a community to support our cause,” Nicole Ras, the marketing manager appealed.
She added that they do their best to be self-sustainable, “… but we still rely on sponsorship and your help to keep the centre open for the people that need therapeutic horse-riding.
“So, if you can see your way clear to giving something extra in our time of need, we know of 140 disabled children from poor communities that would be extremely grateful,” she explained.
Nicole wished for the dire news to reach the masses. “If you cannot personally give, but know of an individual or a company that would be willing to get involved, please point them in our direction. We have a Level 1 B-BBEE status, and we are a Public Benefit Organisation with a Section 18A tax status,” she explained.
She said other ways that people can help them is by helping them sell four-balls for their Golf Day, sell tickets for their Barnyard fundraiser at Silverstar or sign friends, family and colleagues up for Hay for a Day for R99 per month.
