Curves fills up trolleys for charities
The representatives of Curves, the two Taryns, spent hours encouraging the participation of patrons as they went in and out of the shopping centre.
Curves Northcliff left the 14th Avenue Shopping Centre in Constantia Kloof with goods weighing at least 1 270kgs when they held their annual food drive on Saturday, 30 March.
The representatives of Curves, Taryn Augustine, the gym manager and Taryn Chessman, the fitness coach, spent hours encouraging the participation of patrons as they went in and out of the shopping centre.
Augustine explained the aim of the initiative. “Every year, Curves has a national food drive and branches choose a charity or two to collect food and other necessities for during the month of March. The aim is to make a difference in the community by giving back,” she said.
She added that their brand is supportive and community driven. “The food drive is a vital programme that fits in perfectly with the Curves philosophy of caring holistically for women’s health.”
“This year we will be supporting the SPCA Randburg and the Oasis Haven of Love Orphanage,” she said.
Augustine concluded by thanking the community for their donations.
