Helderkruin Lions make a wish come true

Members from the Helderkruin Lions Club recently played an instrumental role in making a wish come true.

Margaret Smith, a Roodepoort resident, read about the Lions Clubs and everything they do for the community in the Record. That is when she decided to contact them and ask if they would be able to help Bowli Cardi.

After hearing Bowli’s story, Sofia Langford and Karl Bands from the Helderkruin Lions Club stepped up and offered to help out by delivering a wheelchair to him.

Bowli could not stop smiling during the handover, and Sandy van Heerden, the Lions Clubs’ Public Relations Officer, said, “This is a good example of our members living out our motto, ‘Where there is a need, there is a Lion’.”
