Glacier Cradle Traverse less than a month away
The third edition of the race will be hoping to live up to last year's event.
The third instalment of Gauteng’s premier mountain bike stage race, the Glacier Cradle Traverse, is now less than three weeks away, with more than 200 riders looking forward to the race.
The second GCT was held last year with great success, especially with the children’s ride during the weekend, which was a roaring success. The GCT prides itself on being a family-orientated event which does not only cater for professional riders, but also provides a fun yet challenging ride for anybody who takes part.
With the appeal of a city escape just over half an hour from the centre of Johannesburg, the GCT has fast become a favourite for adventure-seeking cyclists in the province. This year, more than 200 cyclists will be flocking to Avianto Lifestyle Estate in early April to tackle the Cradle of Humankind terrain.
Riders will camp in style at Avianto from 5–7 April, the perfect base from which to explore the iconic trails of the Cradle of Humankind. Exclusive routes will be made available that extend into Muldersdrift and adjacent estates and conservancies, with breathtaking views and the possibility of game encounters in store.
Not only does the event provide a getaway close to home, it also serves as the ideal networking opportunity for businessmen in the area. The cherry on the top is certainly the daily entertainment available for children, so little adventurers need not be left at home.
