After 18 hospital procedures, Baby Marno finally gets his first taste of a holiday

It was Baby Marno's first holiday ever, after a very, very difficult couple of years.

After 18 procedures, more than 370 days in hospital, and countless other operations, Baby Marno Greyvenstein has finally received a chance to go on holiday with his family.

For the last two-and-a-half years, Baby Marno has continuously been changing the lives of all those in the Greyvenstein family, and touching the hearts of thousands through the struggles he’s survived and fought through. He has been through more hospital procedures in that time than the majority of people will go through in a 80-year lifetime.

Marno has also continued to defy every expectation the doctors have had of him and his life, with very few ever thinking he would have made it this far. His parents, Emile and Mynette, have had to keep strong and keep believing in Baby Marno, no matter how dark things seemed to get, showcasing willpower that many would envy.

Their hard work has only ever been briefly interrupted by momentary relief, that is, until now. Mynette, Emile, Marno, and Marno’s brother, Milan, have finally been brave enough to take the leap of faith and take Baby Marno hundreds of kilometres away from the doctors that know him inside and out.

According to a Facebook post on Baby Marno Greyvenstein’s Facebook page, it was nerve-wracking at first, but has been nothing but a good time for the family. “It is quite nerve-wracking, but we are having an amazing time as a family,” the post read. They also admitted that two years ago they never would have imagined this day ever happening.

“Who would have thought two-and-a-half years ago that Marno would put his feet in the waves and enjoy the beach with his brother and us?” the post read.
