Biathlon ensures fun day out for Constantia learners
The learners had heaps of fun on the day.
Constantia Kloof Primary School (CKPS) held a biathlon for its learners on 14 March, giving them an opportunity for a different kind of fun as they swam and ran around the school.
Just because athletics season has come and gone, that doesn’t mean CKPS’ learners will stop keeping fit and giving their all when it comes to inter-house competitions. Every learner who took part did just that, as every grade (except Grade 0) took part in the biathlon, with each grade allocated to a tailor-made course layout.

The junior phases simply had to swim two widths of the pool and then do two laps around the cricket field before finishing. Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 couldn’t simply hop out of the pool and proceed to running around the field – they had to go through a transitioning section where they had to put on their PT clothing before they ran.
The learners received a time penalty if they didn’t put all of their PT kit on before proceeding to run around the cricket field and up the stairs in and around the school buildings. Overall, the learners had heaps of fun on what was a warm sunny day.
