Allen Glen hosts second leg of Twizza Super 8 tournament
Allen Glen's five teams clashed with three different high schools on the day.
The second round of the inaugural Twizza Super 8 tournament kicked off at Allen Glen High School, with rugby teams from eight different schools locking horns on Saturday, 9 March.
The eight high schools which take part in the rugby side of the tournament are Allen Glen, Hoërskool Die Anker, Steelcrest High School, Carletonville High School, Hoërskool Zeerust, Bracken High School, Hoërskool Parys, and Hoërskool Warmbad. The sports day at Allen Glen was the second round of the tournament, which launched for the first time this year.

The Allen Glen U/14 and U/15 teams locked horns with their opponents on the school’s B-field against Die Anker and Carletonville respectively, with Allen Glen coming out on top by large margins in both matches.
The U/14s played first, with the team only playing their third game together as a unit, and they beat Die Anker by 60–14. The U/15s were next up, and managed to beat Carletonville with a 42–17 scoreline.

On the A-Field, the U/16, 2nd, and 1st teams from the schools were doing battle as Allen Glen’s teams played against Steelcrest, Die Anker, and Carletonville. The U/16s managed a whitewash against Steelcrest, beating them 24–0, the 2nd team beat Die Anker 31–18, and the 1st team beat Carletonville by 60 points to 24.
