With reference to the article about the JMPD cleaning up the street because of vendors.
I am sure there are mixed emotions regarding this matter, however I salute the JMPD for cleaning up.
You do find the honest vendors trying to support their families, but our car dealership is situated in Adolphus Street, where the vendors also started small, and today it is so bad that our clients struggle to get to our premises.
What once started out as an effort to make an honest living is now a smokescreen for selling drugs to the school children. We brought the problem to the attention of the authorities, but yes, they have a busy schedule. If we ask them [the vendors] to please not urinate onto our stand, they will show you they will and damage our vehicles.
We used to have a good understanding, with them but now we are not safe at all.
Therefore, I would like to thank the JMPD for the clean-up – it made me as a woman alone in the office feel a bit safer.
