The City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor, councillor Herman Mashaba, together with the City of Tshwane Executive Mayor, Councillor Stevens Mokgalapa, and the Executive Mayor of Midvaal Local Municipality, Councillor Bongani Baloyi, launched an expansion of the monthly A Re Sebetseng volunteer clean-up campaign to the municipalities of Tshwane and Midvaal today, 6 March.
The A Re Sebetseng volunteer clean-up campaign, which has its roots in Johannesburg, encourages all residents to take ownership of their environment by helping to create cleaner and more connected communities.
The event took place at the Soweto Country Club in Pimville, Soweto.
“The City’s initiative should inspire more action, with it being replicated across other parts of the province,” said Mashaba.
