On the 27 February 2019, I was robbed while waiting for my order at the Steers [at Lifestyle Crossing]. Unfortunately, according to centre management and the police, the video footage did not show the face of the suspect or the getaway vehicle.
The reason that I am writing this letter is that I need other residents to be warned that they need to be careful, as obviously, the syndicate is operating in our area.
I did notice the suspect, but because he looked so random, I didn’t think to be specially careful. Plus, I was with my daughter and was more concerned to not let her out of my sight. The suspect was constantly on the phone, walking around, until he grabbed my wallet and phone.
I was fortunate to be assisted by strangers after my belongings were taken. The Lifestyle Crossing centre management, as well as Steers, in my opinion, could have handled the matter better. I received no assistance from them. Instead, I was told they can only assist if I reported the matter to the police, and that was only to allow me to view the video footage.
