The members of the Lions Club of Wilro Park had to say goodbye to a very special person recently.
“It is a very sad time for us here at the Wilro Lions – we had to say goodbye to our President, Dolf Labuschagne, on 17 February,” said Sandy van Heerden, the Club’s public relations officer.
She said that Dolf, who was 69 years old, passed away suddenly while lying peacefully in his bed.
“He was a very special man; a husband, father, grandfather, friend, fellow Lion and our President. Dolf was a dedicated Lion and very committed to serving his club and community. He was loved by many and left the world a better place than what he found it in,” Sandy said.
She concluded by saying, “Lions President Dolf was called to higher service and will be greatly missed by all. He will never be forgotten. We were so proud to serve beside him. Rest in peace, President Dolf.”
