“We get no assistance from the national government to have illegal immigrants processed and detained for deportation”.
This was a comment made by Ward 89 councillor, Amelia Bester, criticising the national government for apparently failing to deal with illegal immigrants in the City.

She shared the sentiments after the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) recently acted against the illegal traders operating outside Builders Warehouse on Jim Fouché Road in Allen’s Nek, many of whom are believed to be foreigners.
In a Facebook post, Amelia said the situation [gets] out of control and the mob gets aggressive and arrogant at times and in the past they have threatened and assaulted some residents.
