Charterhouse teacher and student complete 2019 Midmar Mile
The two were the only Happy Chaps who braved the tough swim.
A learner and a teacher both took part in and completed the world’s largest open water swim – the Midmar Mile – this year, making the school immensely proud in the process.
Jen Bull took part in her first Midmar Mile this year, but she didn’t swim alone as her best friend, Jacqui, also took part and swam alongside her for the race. Jen managed to bag herself a highly-respectable time of 36:33 over the 1,7km course, thoroughly enjoying the incredibly tough swim as well.

Jen wasn’t the only Happy Chap taking part however, as Grade 7 Charterhouse learner, Connor Lipp, also donned his swimming trunks to take on the world’s largest open water swim. Connor took part in the Boys 13 and Under category, and managed to finish the 1,7km race in about 32 minutes, beating his teacher by just under five minutes.
