Sector 2 CPF meeting coming up

The meeting will be held in the Honeydew Police Station Boardroom at 7pm.

Residents are reminded about the upcoming Honeydew Sector 2 Community Policing Forum meeting, which takes place on Thursday, 28 February.

The meeting will be held in the Honeydew Police Station Boardroom at 7pm where members of the forum from different Residents Associations and law enforcement bodies will congregate to discuss crime patterns affecting the sector.

The chairperson of the forum, Neville Burnett, firmly believes that the input of the RAs improves security in the sector. “Although crime is still at unacceptable levels in our sector, we are pleased to report that Sector 2 remains the area in which the least crime is reported. Having said that, we feel that any incident is one too many and that is why your elected Resident Association chairs have committed to attending (or having an appointed representative) at our monthly meetings.”

“It is my firm belief that RAs definitely make a difference to the low levels of crime and I am pleased to report that the whole of Sector 2 is covered by these organisations,” Burnett explained.

He also advised residents who are unsure of the RA they fall under to contact him via email to chair@sector2.honeydew.cpf.org, or by cellphone on 076 077 5585.

In the continuous fight against crime, Neville also encouraged residents to volunteer their time as patrollers. “Honeydew CPF Patrollers are making a difference in our sector. If you wish to be part of this dedicated group, please contact Jon Rosenberg on 082 450 2305 or contact your RA Chair. Note that volunteers patrol the whole precinct,” he concluded.
