A Constantia Kloof resident was able to think on his feet on Sunday, 17 February, and narrowly avoid a hijacking in Beverley Drive, at about the same time that another resident was hijacked in David Street.
According to Sub Rosa Security owner, Jaques Kleynhans, the Beverley Drive attempted hijacking is believed to have taken place at about 2.45pm. “The victim saw the suspect vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, but once the victim turned into Beverley, the suspects [began to] follow him,” he said.
The suspects, who either drove a blue Opel Corsa or an Opel Astra (reports vary), then sped past the victim and subsequently pulled in front of the victim and came to a stop before exiting the vehicle.

It was a bad day for Constantia Kloof residents as at about the same time (3pm) a motorist was hijacked in David Street. The suspect vehicle was believed to be either a white VW Polo or Golf.
According to Kleynhans, Sub Rosa and the Constantia Kloof Residents Forum are working together to phase in license plate recognition cameras in the Constantia Kloof area.
