The RiverWel Residents Association (RA) has requested residents of Weltevreden Park to report any unresolved problems with regard to the sewer upgrade project.
According to an RA member, Neville Burnett, the upgrade is almost complete and the contractor will be closing down the site in approximately two months’ time.
He said any problems relating to the project can be reported to the Community Liaison Officer, Ashley Botha, who will attend to the logged issue, on 072 238 2334.

The project is a sewer pipe replacement project, on which Johannesburg Water had to spend over R42 million. The scope of the work included upgrading of sewer pipes in the network by replacing old asbestos cement pipes with larger or same size high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) pipes as well as re-installing erf connections and manholes.
The replacement of the pipes covers an estimated distance of about 25km, according to the MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, councillor Nico de Jager, who conducted an oversight visit last year to ensure the project was running smoothly.
