Roodepoort police create awareness in the community
They were joined by Social Crime Prevention as well as Sector 2 members
The Roodepoort Police embarked on two separate crime-awareness operations on 7 February. The first was with the Sector 2 Community Policing Forum (CPF) and the second was with the Sector 3 CPF.
Captain Yorke, Warrant Officer Niehaus and Constable Mbuli were among the police members who did patrols with Sector 3 CPF as part of their visible policing and to update the sector profile.

Yorke, the Roodepoort Police spokesperson said, “During this period one false hijacking was reported that turned out to be negative. No other incidents were reported and the operation was concluded at 11.45am.”
At noon on the same day, the second crime-awareness campaign commenced, this time with the Sector 2 CPF manager. Members Yorke, Loots and Mbuli also did patrols with Sector 2 CPF as part of their visible policing and to update the sector profile.
Yorke said, “We also used the opportunity to inform all business owners about the CPF meeting on 16 February at the Roodepoort City Hall. The operation concluded at 3pm.”
