Candle light dinner on V day thanks to Eskom

While there has been improvement, the power system remains vulnerable.

Whether or not you celebrate Valentine’s Day, you will have dinner by candle light this evening, thanks to Eskom implementing Stage 2 load shedding.

Stage 2 load shedding allows for up to 2 000MW to be shed from the national grid.

Today marks the fifth consecutive day of rotational power cuts. For today it is set to inconvenience us from 8am to 10pm.

According to Eskom there has been some improvement in generation performance and the replenishment of water and diesel supplies compared to Wednesday, 13 February when Stage 3 was implemented.

While there has been some improvement, the power system remains vulnerable.
