Cluster begins month with numerous arrests

Between 28 January and 3 February, police stations in the Cluster arrested 278 suspects for various crimes.

 

The Johannesburg West Cluster started the month of February on a successful note by bringing a massive number of offenders to book.

According to Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, the crimes ranged from murder, rape, house and business robberies, shoplifting, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of dagga to defeating the ends of justice. All the suspects have appeared in various courts.

Muthan added that apart from the arrests, the stations will continue giving talks at the various schools on issues the learners often experience at their schools, such as bullying and drugs, as part of their various school projects.
