You can still register to vote

MMC for Economic Development and Ward 97 councillor, Leah Knott, has encouraged unregistered residents within Region C to make their way to the local IEC office on the second floor of the Roodepoort Civic Centre at 100 Christiaan De Wet Road.

Regardless of the reason that prevented you from registering to vote during the final weekend of registration two weekends ago, you still have another opportunity to do so.

The MMC for Economic Development and Ward 97 councillor, Leah Knott, has encouraged unregistered residents within Region C to make their way to local IEC office on the second floor of the Roodepoort Civic Centre at 100 Christiaan De Wet Road.

Leah stated the following: “Nationwide, the number of registered voters has increased by more than half a million registered voters from those registered in 2014; however, there are still 11,2 million unregistered voters, of which the majority fall within the 18 to 34 age category.”

She said the opportunity is open until President Cyril Ramaphosa announces the election date at the opening of Parliament. The opening is scheduled for Thursday, 7 February.
