BCI Security hailed for selfless act

The security team arrived with a truck filled with soil to fill up the crevasses which were a cause of concern for many motorists.

BCI Security has been hailed by the MMC for Economic Development and Ward 97 councillor, Leah Knott, for going beyond the call of duty in her ward.

The company’s personnel led by its media liaison officer Gary Jordaan recently took it upon themselves to maintain a dirt road in Honeydew which was in a poor state due to recent rains.

The security team arrived with a truck filled with soil to fill up the crevasses which were a cause of concern for many motorists.

This selfless act was appreciated by Leah. She said, “I would like to sincerely thank Gary Jordaan and his team at BCI Security for securing soil, at their own expense, to fill the crevasses forming on Magnum Road in Honeydew/ Wilgeheuwel”.

She further hailed other security companies for their positive impact in the community. “We are very fortunate to have several security companies in the ward, including BCI Security and Absolut Security, who go above and beyond their duties in ensuring that we have a safe and clean environment. This is the type of active citizenry and social responsibility the Executive Mayor, Herman Mashaba, is trying to entrench in our City,” Leah explained.

She also spoke about the process that the City has to undergo to get such a job done, “Not many people know but it requires the budget to secure soil for these types of operations and it can sometimes be a lengthy process depending on when it is required”.

However, she mentioned that the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) would finish where BCI left off.

“JRA has inspected the road, and is satisfied with the fill done. They will be sending a grader through today to compact the soil so that it is not washed away during rainy weather and to smooth out the road surface,” she said.
