“My motto in life is simple – if you can dream, you have already done it, and, by being on stage, doing what I love, I have achieved what I have dreamt about.”
“My new CD is a reflection of my soul and will be available from internet music stores on 1 February. The CD is all about finding yourself through love,” said Nadia Zara.

She added that, for as long as she can remember, music has been part of her life, and explained, “I come from a musical family; my grandfathers loved to sing and my siblings played musical instruments, and that is how music became a part of me. When I was small, we did not have a car radio, and my mother always asked me to stand up and sing an old Sonja Heroldt classic – Jantjie – and it was the best feeling ever. I think that is where my musical journey started.”
Nadia described herself as a passionate and caring person who loves visiting the theatre, watching movies, going on coffee dates with her friends and spending some time alone watching her favourite programmes. “I also love to spend time with my husband and all of our animal children,” she said, smiling.
Her musical journey has been quite exciting, and, apart from being a contestant on Noot vit Noot and Musiek Roulette, she has also achieved the following:
• Klipdrift Idols – Droogeheuwel 2013, where she progressed to the semi-finals at Silverstar
• Baycity Idols – The Wedge 2013
• Battle of the Idols – Club 40 2012
• After competing at The Heat is On, she signed a six-month contract with Stone Studios International. The first song she wrote received airplay abroad
• Helicat Awards – Nominee – Best Newcomer and Best Female artist
• The Meeks Productions – Little Shop of Horrors – Crystal Award
• Stardust Productions – Time Warp – Magenta Award
She said that her mother is her inspiration and role model, “She taught me how to be the strong and independent woman I am.”
Nadia concluded by saying, “With my new CD, I want to share the joy and inner peace I receive from performing with everyone.”
