Use this opportunity while you still can

Citizens should use the extended hours

The Roodepoort Home Affairs Office has extended its hours to help more residents who need its services.

The office will be open from 7am to 7pm until 11 January to provide extended and quicker services to the community.

This will ensure that people are not turned away from the office without being helped. On a normal shift, clients are served from 8am until 3.30pm.

The Department urged citizens who had already applied for their smart ID cards, and received notification that their cards were ready, to use this opportunity to collect them. Those who have not applied for their smart ID cards are encouraged to use the extended hours and apply, ahead of the general elections. All other services will be offered, including applications for and collection of passports, and registration of births, marriages and deaths.
