Pikitup left the street in a mess

Zak from Roodepoort North writes:

While I was looking after my future father-in-law’s property, I decided to clean up his yard. He normally dumps the waste himself at the Pikitup yard and he doesn’t take the bin outside on Pikitup collection days.

He never uses their service but pays his levy, which includes rubbish collection.

When I took the bin out with three black refuse bags, and the truck stopped for collection, one of the employees came to the gate, so I walked out. Then he asked me for Christmas box. I told him I was just looking after the place and do not have a stable job, so I do not have money.

He started being rude and said I must give them cigarettes. I then replied with the same words. He clicked his tongue and said something to the other guys in their mother tongue.

They dropped the refuse bags after that, not caring that the bags were open or that papers started flying everywhere, and they left the street dirty. I took a few photos and really wanted to leave the bags outside, but that would have looked bad and made more mess.

I am not happy with their service.
