Roodepoort Police members were performing their special-operations duties from 12 December 2018 to 2 January by doing stops and searches around the Roodepoort precinct.
Twenty-nine suspects aged between 18 and 45 were arrested for various cases – malicious injury to property, possession of drugs, contravening the Gauteng Liquor Act 2 of 2003, possession of suspected stolen property, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, common assault, housebreaking and theft, and being drunk in public.

The suspects were charged and detained at Roodepoort Police Station.
