Alleged hijacking leaves Maraisburg man in critical condition.

He was transported to hospital

An alleged hijacking left a man in critical condition on the evening of 5 January.

According to Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, the incident occurred at approximately 9pm on the corner of 1st Avenue and 5th Street in Maraisburg.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, the man, believed to be in his 30’s, was lying on the pavement with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The paramedics stabilised him before he was rushed to a private hospital in the area. He was in a critical condition,” Campbell said.

Police was dispatched to investigate the matter.
