What causes many in Witpoortjie to fall ill?

Some claim bug is due to recent rain.

Although the Record does not want to be alarmist, it believes in better being safe than sorry.

According to various reports on social media, many residents in the Witpoortjie area are suffering from symptoms that include vomiting, diarrhoea and dizziness. One woman said she hadn’t been able to sleep since she fell ill two nights ago (31 December). Some of those affected claim that the ‘bug’ is the result of the excessive rains this past week.
