I am sure that you have received complaints emanating from the netball/ tennis courts on Belladonna Road.
A ‘church’ gathers here every Saturday and Sunday. Music, singing and shouting are the order of the day … ALL DAY.
On 15 December, I approached some of the men pitching a tent and respectfully requested them to lower the music and noise levels. They replied that they would. On Sunday, 16 December the noise went on at higher decibels the entire day.
Consideration for others must also be borne in mind.
I have reported this to the Roodepoort Police at 4.45pm on the day and they called back later to enquire if the noise was still excessive and whether they should still send a patrol car. By then it appeared that the noise had stopped.
Concerns expressed in the media recently referred to ‘private churches’ appearing fast everywhere. Some reported that a number of these ‘churches’ swindle people out of their money. We have all seen this happening.
This may not be the case on Belladonna Road, but I do trust that René Benjamin of the DA will take note of this letter and assist in this matter.
The residents of Roodekrans also have a right to a peaceful, safe and quiet neighbourhood.
