How to recover from the holidays

You deserve a break.

Holidays can often be purpose-defeating, with you ending up more tired after the holidays than before.

Here are some things to do after New Year’s Day to recover:

• Switch off your cellphone. You have sacrificed enough for visiting friends and distant family, and deserve at least one day of not being disturbed.

• Do some light exercise. On the day after your last party, go for a light jog or walk in a scenic area.

• Do stock take of where you are at spiritually. Plan ways to get yourself back on track spiritually in the new year.

• Spend some quality time with your loved ones. You have probably neglected each other over the festive season and its time to put each other first.

• Sleep. Treat yourself to a decent nap or naps at times you could otherwise not afford to.
