As we wrap up the year in the Roodepoort Northsider office (Caxton West Rand), I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our newsmakers, from councillors, police, and security companies, to schools, businesses, forums and organisations, for ensuring we had content in the paper every week.
It’s personally been a great a year for me, from kick-starting the year by winning the Most Promising Journalist accolade at the Caxton Awards for last year’s hard work, to producing exceptional content for the paper every week, despite stumbling blocks.
My field highlights for the year are the stories that brought some relief, resolution and happiness to the reader or complainant. For those who felt misrepresented or whose issues we didn’t manage to solve, 2019 is another year in which to tackle your problems with a fresh mindset after the holidays.
