Residents to experience water shortage

The affected areas include the City of Johannesburg, City of Tshwane and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipalities.

In a recent media statement by Rand Water (RW), its media relations manager, Justice Mohale advises residents of possible water shortages.

According to Mohale, RW is currently experiencing electricity problems at its Palmiet Pumping Station. Their system is at a critically low level, with the Klipriviersberg Reservoir is at below 20 per cent.

Under these circumstances they have to intensify restrictions on the network to alleviate pressure on the reduced capacity.
