A 52-year-old man is facing a charge of murder after he allegedly assaulted and killed his girlfriend whom he found with another man.
The incident happened at Chesa Mpama informal settlement on Sunday, 2 December at about 1:30pm, according to Muldersdrift Police spokesperson Constable Slindile Ntuli, who indicated that the man was arrested at the scene of the crime.

She detailed the incident, “It is alleged that a 52-year-old male went to visit his girlfriend at Chesa Mpama informal settlement and found her with another man. The man managed to run out of the house, but the furious boyfriend assaulted his girlfriend and stabbed her multiple times.
“Members of the community went to investigate and discovered the victim with multiple wounds on her body and rescued her from the angry boyfriend,” she explained.
She added that Constables Tlhale and Ndlela arrested the suspect at the scene. The victim was rushed to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect is due to appear in court soon, facing murder charge.
The station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mankontsho Setlhare, urged the community members to report cases of domestic violence to the police for assistance.
