Class of 2018 awarded for their hard work

Everything has been improving in sports and academics and none of this would have been possible without the assistance of the structures that make the school,” Cameron weighed in.

Hard work and dedication paid off for numerous Allen Glen High School matriculants who were honoured at the school’s valedictory service ceremony on Monday, 27 November.

After completing the final examination of the year (English Paper 3), the top achievers in different disciplines returned to the school to take their final strides to mark their departure.

This prestigious event was attended by parents and the school management.

The outgoing head boy and -girl, Cameron Mackrill and Lauren Bello Awarez, reflected on the year it has been. “The year was pretty good. I think all of us pushed very hard to achieve what we want and exceeded our own expectations,” said Lauren.

“I feel the school has moved forward in terms of the pass rate. Everything has been improving in sports and academics and none of this would have been possible without the assistance of the structures that make the school,” Cameron weighed in.

The duo also wished their counterparts best of luck ahead of their future endeavours. “I hope my schoolmates keep doing as they are doing and continue to accomplish what they want in life,” said Lauren.

The school Principal, Jane Kruger, concluded her touching message by saying to the learners, “… You stand at the door awaiting entry into the next chapter of your lives. The world outside of the classroom is inviting, invigorating and challenging; it promises to excite, disappoint and inspire you. Your time at the school served to sow the seeds of academics and self-knowledge in each of you; the way forward will grow and gather the fruits of these seeds”.
