On the afternoon of Friday, 16 November, after sending an e-mail to City Power about street lights not working, I contacted Mr David McMahon of City Power and explained our situation to him.
He promised to try and expedite our request.
At approximately 4:05pm the same day, I saw the City Power officials on the corner of Hamman and Wandel streets and stopped to speak to them.
I saw that it was again the same two gentleman that fixed our lights at short notice on two previous occasions. They showed me my e-mail and enquired if I had written it.
I then spent time with Messrs Reckson Tshiseuhe and Reuben Ramulondi, showing them the various lights that were not working and needed to be repaired.
The residents at the addresses where the street lights were not working were pleasantly surprised to see City Power fixing them on a Friday afternoon.
By 6:30pm all the street lights in Hamberg and Florida Lake were again working thanks to these two gentleman.
Mr Moses Dhlamini is also always ready to assist where possible and I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Community, to thank this great team for their assistance when we need it the most, as it again happened this past Friday!
We salute them and greatly appreciate their efforts to strive to give the best service they can at such short notice. Please covey our thanks and appreciation to them on our behalf.
