Global Citizen Festival tickets motivate youth to clean up

International superstars Beyonce and Jay-Z have been confirmed to perform at the Global Citizens Festival

Global Citizen Festival, in partnership with A Re Sebetseng, held a clean-up session at Westgate Shopping Centre on Saturday, 19 November.

Lots of people came to support the event, especially the youth. Most of them were motivated by the opportunity to stand a chance of winning tickets for the Global Citizens Festival to take place at the FNB Stadium on Sunday, 2 December.

One of the tickets winners was Lunga Mafilika from Tshepisong. “No amount of words can express how happy I am to win these tickets. I grew up listening to Jay-Z and Beyoncé so going to see them perform live is a dream come true,” Lunga said.

The Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. This year’s festival will celebrate the centenary year of former president Nelson Mandela, honouring his legacy in the fight to end “extreme poverty”.

International superstars Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been confirmed to perform at the Global Citizens Festival alongside a star-studded line-up that includes Pharrel Williams, Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran, Usher, D’banj, Femi Kuti, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Sho Madjozi and Cassper Nyovest, who tweeted the poster.
