When will the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) start doing their mandated job of enforcing the by-laws of the City?
I feel distraught every time I travel on Hendrik Potgieter Road, due to the lack of by-law enforcement by the JMPD.
If I don’t have to worry about taxis driving negligently – risking the lives of the poor passengers – I have to worry about smash and grabbers at every intersection. It’s hard to tell who’s genuine and who’s not when it comes to street traders who have all of a sudden mushroomed at most of the intersections, especially at sunset. Who are they selling to after 5pm? It’s a question I hope many are trying to figure out.
It’s becoming even scarier to drive on Hendrik Potgieter Road especially now that we approaching the festive season. I really appeal to the JMPD or the Police to step up their crime prevention game by focusing on this nightmarish road before we experience the worst as motorists.
