Nolan Hoffman, BCX and ProTouch gearing up to tackle Tshwane Cycle Classic

ProTouch will be sporting seven cyclists who will all be fighting for the top spot at the Tshwane Classic this weekend

The second edition of the Tshwane Cycle Classic will be taking place on 4 November, with local cyclist Nolan Hoffman representing BCX and taking on the riders from ProTouch Cycling.

The riders will be part of almost 7 000 cyclists who will be lining up from 5.45am at the Voortrekker Monument for the second edition of the Tshwane Classic. Last year, riders climbed up to Freedom Park and then descended to finish at the entrance to the Monument. The Freedom Park climb is short but will enable the climbers to put the bunch under pressure.

Team BCX will undoubtedly sport a powerhouse outfit at the race this year, a team that will feature prolific Ruimsig-based rider Nolan Hoffman. Hoffman will be riding off the back of strong showings at the Yarona FM 106.6 Cycle Challenge in Botswana and the Tsogo Sun Amashovashova Classic in Durban in October, both of which he finished in first place.

Hoffman and his BCX teammates will have more than the two hill climbs on the route to beat however, as ProTouch will also be sporting a strong in-form outfit at the race. ProTouch will be represented by Jayde Julius, who recently earned a second place in the Bestmed Satellite Classic; Gustav Basson, who claimed victory in the U/23 section in Botswana, Reynard Butler, Mitch Eliot who finished third in the U/23 section in Botswana; Myles van Musschenbroek, who finished in Botswana, and finally James Fourie and Songezo Jim.

Heading into the race, ProTouch and BCX will also be rivalled by OfficeGuru cyclist, Dylan Girdlestone, who finished third at the Bestmed Satellite Classic.
