Kruinpark’s morning market was a French affair
'We are grateful for all the support'
The annual morning market at the Kruinpark Retirement Village showed some French savoir faire and offered something for everyone’s taste.
According to Susie Kruger, one of the organisers of the morning market, this was the 13th year that the market was held. “We use this morning market as a fundraising project, to help raise money for the retirement village. All the money we raised today will be used for day-to-day maintenance, as well as the upgrading of the village’s facilities,” she said.

The day was open to the community, who were spoilt for choice with boerewors rolls, pancakes, cakes, puddings, curry and rice as well as a large variety of handmade goods to browse through. “All of the stalls were manned by residents, who came to sell their handmade goods. They also helped with the baking of cakes, and making of puddings as well as manning the pancake pans,” Susie said.

She said that the market was very well supported and that they had a fantastic showing, which helped make the day a huge success. She concluded by thanking the community, as well as the residents, for all their support, and said, “Without each one of them, this day would not have been possible and we would not have been able to make a success of it.
Thank you once again for all the support.”
