Medals galore for KJK’s judokas
They made their schools – and club – proud
A number of judokas from the KJK Judo Club participated in the recent South African Schools Judo Tournament, and did extremely well.
The tournament was held over two days with the judokas competing in two categories – Novice (judokas who have not competed in National tournaments) and Advanced (experienced judokas who have done National Championships before.
The judokas represented their respective schools, and not only kept the schools’ name high, but their club’s name as well. Sensei Kaja Bruwer, the Club coach, said, “Congratulations to our judokas who performed so well at the tournament. You all worked hard and I saw some beautiful techniques, made me very proud!”
Tyla Stacey-Hale and Ruhan Terblanche both won gold medals in their respective categories and brothers Moagi and Oabile Molefe won silver.
Both Moagi and Ruhan won National trials in their age categories in February and were also selected to be part of the South African team that will be competing at the Commonwealth Judo Championships.
