Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras show images of an armed man attempting to break into a house in Marble Crescent, Kloofendal Ext 1.
After the incident occurred, Ward 85 councillor, Sonja Meyer, called a community meeting with the Kloofendal Residents’ Association (KRA), Apcan Security and local residents. The meeting was held at the Kloofendal Nature Reserve. One of the items on the agenda for the meeting was the need to address the security and safety of the neighbourhood.

According to Meyer, during the meeting, the Kloofendal Residents’ Association proposed that the neighbourhood should have a boom gate. A follow-up meeting will be announced soon.
Residents reacted positively towards the idea and all aspects concerning the funding and proposal were addressed.
