Ruimsig Country Club Chairman’s Trophy postponed due to inclement weather

Rain and lightning led to last Saturday's Chairman's Trophy being moved to this weekend instead.

Ruimsig Country Club’s annual Chairman’s Trophy was forced to move to this weekend after storms rolled in on its original date, Saturday 13 October.

Golfers had taken to the greens as early as 6am that morning as part of the morning field for the competition. Despite conditions initially seeming conducive to a perfect day of golf, the clouds started closing in not long after initial tee-off.

The clouds seemed to hold, despite a couple of drops falling during the morning. The afternoon field was even able to tee off at 11am with the weather still behaving.

Sadly, that didn’t last long, as heaven’s floodgates opened in the afternoon and rain began pouring down. This was followed by lightning as well, which led to the day being called off and postponed to Saturday, 20 October.
